COVID - 19
The current Coronavirus (COVID -19) outbreak is a fluid one with Government and Medical advice changing rapidly. This statement is based on the best advice currently available at the time of writing.
The safety of our customers and staff are first and foremost our priority, therefore Maxi Filtration would like to offer critical advice on what building owners, maintenance teams and FM Companies can do to prevent the spread of the virus through common ventilation systems.
For Maximum Air Quality, Maintenance is key. At this time, any airborne contaminants can be minimised, if not eliminated, by proper and effective filtration and regular cleaning and maintenance of ventilation systems. A clean ventilation system is an essential part of a healthy building. Even if your building has no confirmed cases, it is essential that filters are regularly changed, and ventilation systems are cleaned as a preventative measure during this time and on-going.
In order to prevent the further spread of this pandemic, our filtration experts recommend using a minimum grade of F8/F9 ISO ePM 1 for secondary filters, as a precautionary measure. It is worth noting that, although filters may not necessarily look ‘dirty’, contaminants are often invisible to the naked eye, so by not changing them you are posing an unnecessary risk to those in the building.
If you are recycling the air in your building to save energy, we recommend you turn off the re-circulation and use 100% supply air. This will increase the ventilation supply rate. Viruses in the building are more likely to come from inside than outside. Fresh air dilutes the concentration and turning off the re-circulation prevents spread of the virus from within the building.
As a business we are taking the necessary steps in order to protect both our staff and our customers. All our filters are manufactured here in the UK and to the Eurovent and ISO standard. Our service teams are taking extra precautions when carrying out Fitting and Disposal services at sites by wearing appropriate PPE and being extra vigilant with extra hand washing and sanitising.
As far as Maxi Filtration is concerned it is business as usual and we will be more than happy to help our customers in any way we can.
